Two former players have returned to the set up at the Doagh Road-based club.

Jack Milto (19), the back rower and former captain of the club’s Under 18 side makes a welcome return following a season at Ballymena. He said: “Leaving my home club was a difficult decision, but it’s great to be back and I look forward to training and playing with old friends again.”

Callum Hull is also returning to Ballyclare. Callum (20) went on to play rugby at Antrim Grammar and Randalstown RFC and has developed into an exciting, dynamic out half. He said: “the buzz around Ballyclare RFC created by their exciting brand of rugby made me want to get involved.”

Sam Wallace (24), who has been out of rugby for a couple of years through injury, last played at Carrick RFC. The outhalf/full back was “attracted by the prospect of good coaching and development of his game.”

Head Coach Mike Orchin-McKeever said: “These signings are great additions to the senior squad. The challenge for positions will focus the squad as we look forward to a new season. The club’s renewed venture of U20 rugby will give Jack and Callum an opportunity to train and play with their peers and develop their game in a competitive environment. We are hopeful that there will be some further signings for the 21/22 season.”

Assistant Coach Ricky Lutton is also pleased with the new signings.

He said: “Additions to the player pool at Ballyclare is always welcome. It’s great to have the guys on board.”

Training, which is in line with latest Ulster Branch Covid protocols, restarts with U20 groups training 6-7pm and seniors 7-8pm each Tuesday and Thursday. Anyone new wishing to join can contact the club via their social media channels.
