Roesiders win onthe road

LIMAVADY enjoyed an incredible 20-10 win at the much fancied Enniskillen in the first round of the Junior Cup.

The Skins started the brightest but place kicker Zach Charlton couldn’t covert an early penalty.

Roesiders Kiwi outhalf, Greg Jordan, took his opportunity a few moments later with a long distance effort giving the lead to the visitors on seven minutes.

Limavady continued to push, and rewarded for their early pressure when prop John McCollum battled his way over the line in the 12th minute, Jordan converted from under the posts.

Four minutes later the all blacks scored an early contender for try of the season. A break from Chris Hunter and integrate passes between himself, Jordan and winger Pearse McNickle, resulted in Jordan diving over in the corner to the delight of the travelling support.

Enniskillen had much of the possession for the remainder of the half, but the visitors soaked up the pressure. Charlton converting one of three penalty attempts. Limavady second row was also sin binned on the stroke of half-time.

With 14 men, Limavady started the second half brightest. Jordan missed an early penalty attempt. However the Roesiders were rewarded again when Alan Robinson broke away to score in the corner.

Skins stepped up a gear but were unable to breach the Limavady defence until the 77th minute and by that stage it was all to late.

An incredible performance, that has set a marker for Limavady to inspire to for every games this season.
