Magherafelt Harriers are hosting the Run For Coach Francis this weekend to raise funds for club stalwart and coach Francis Stewart, a highly respected runner and coach known across the country for his love of running.

Francis had been badly injured in a cycling accident a few months ago and continues his long fight on the road to recovery in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

We appeal to the running fraternity, local sports clubs and anyone who knows Francis to support this event and help raise funds for this very worthy cause.

This event will take place on Saturday 17th of October at 11am.

Registration is open from 9am at the Rainey old boys rugby club and the run itself starts a short walk away at lester terrace.

The 4 mile loop heads out the Killyfaddy Road, turns right onto Ballymoughan then right again onto Moneymore road - before another right turn back to lester terrace.

We would like to stress that this is purely a fundraising event, so no times will be taken and no prizes awarded.

You can run, walk or jog - whichever you prefer - with a £10 entry fee charged on the day.

A raffle will be held at the post-race buffet, with a selection of excellent prizes on offer kindly donated by friends, family and local businesses.

They hope to see you all on Saturday in support of coach Francis.
