Saga continues

LIMAVADY United will try once again to play Armagh City this Saturday for their re-arranged WKD Intermediate cup game.

This game has returned to the Showgrounds as the game was postponed last Saturday due to a frozen pitch.

This will be the fourth time that the two teams have tried to play this fixture due to the inclement weather

The Eagles this season have ended their association with Mercat Foundation which saw them receive several players.

City were relegated from the Ladbrokes.com Championship One last season and this season has been a bit of a struggle for them as well.

They are currently 12th in Ladbrokes.com Championship 2 with only eight points from their ten league games.

Armagh have won only two of those games, drawing two and losing the other six league fixtures. In those ten games they have scored thirteen goals and conceded almost double that with twenty three. They had no game at the weekend as their trip to Tobermore United was called off due to the weather.

Last season United came out on top in both games. They won four nil at home and by a single Trevor Hutchinson at Holm Park.

Despite their troubles this season United manager Oran Kearney isn't expecting a walkover for his team.

"It's not going to be an easy game against Armagh, that's one thing that is for sure," said Kearney

"We had a couple of very tough league games against them last season especially up at their place.

"They are in the same division at Wakehurst and we seen the way they performed against us so we will be under no illusions.

"The fixtures are piling up now and it will be difficult over the next few months to get everything sorted out but we will take it one game at a time.

"That's the way we go about things. We only ever look at the next game and never get caught up in looking too far ahead.

"Last season we got to the semi-final of this competition were we unfortunately lost to Loughgall.

"This is huge trophy to be a part of and one that obviously we would like to go all the way in," he concluded.

Going into this game the Roesiders have a slight doubt over the fitness of Michael Walsh who missed last weekend's game with a calf injury.

Chris Rodden is still missing but there is better news for the teenager as he will return to training this week.
