Sammy helps Ulster net Inter-Provincials

PORTRUSH man Sammy Stirling is celebrating after captaining the Ulster Shore Sea Angling team which recently won the Irish Inter-Provincial championships and the prestigious Oliver Exorna Cup.

The Cup was fished for down in Maurice Castle, Leinster on September 17th, under highly competitive Match Rules and on the day it was all flounder and dab fishing.

Sammy was the best overall Ulster Angler and finished a worthy ninth in his zone.

This was the first time in 19 years that Ulster have been the Champions, and the very first time they have ever won outside their own province.

Sammy wishes to acknowledge the excellent performance from his team mates, Johnny Snoddy, Ryan Williamson, Mark O’Connor and Eddie Irvine.
