Morrow, who had a short spell at The Showgrounds in 2010, spent last season with Linfield making 27 appearances for the club.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney has spoken of his desire to add more goals to the side, and he believes Morrow, who has played for a number of clubs in England and Scotland, fits the bill with his firepower and experience.

“I’m delighted to bring Sammy back to the club,” said Kearney.

“And he is looking forward to playing for Coleraine again. He feels he has unfinished business here after his first spell and he is hungry with a point to prove.

“This summer for me it is important to add goals to the team and Sammy will bring goals. He also brings a wealth of experience with him, which will help the likes of Jamie McGonigle and Ian Parkhill massively.

“This is a big boost to us and a great way to kick off our transfer business.”

Kearney revealed he had made tentative enquiries about Morrow last summer.

“I heard Sammy was coming home and spoke briefly to him, but he had been out of the game for a year as he was studying to become an agent and I felt I needed someone who was playing regularly to come into our side,” he said.

“But he proved me wrong as he came in and played regularly for Linfield last season, and played well.

“I think he was only unavailable for four games, which is great and shows he was more than able to stand up to the physical rigours of the Irish League despite not playing for so long.

“He will be a great addition to our squad and as I said he has a real desire to help fire us on next season.”
