School cross country action returns again
The local Primary Schools Cross Country League second round race set for St Columb’s Park at 12noon on Friday with another big entry expected as good performances and places in the NI Finals at Mallusk next February will be contested.
Saturday is busy with the annual Malcolm Cup meeting, a scoring race in the ANI Cross Country League which will attract lots of runners to Ballyclare and the same day the Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail race Series continues with the Lough Fea 5k set to pull in good numbers.

Hide AdIts down to Dublin on Sunday and Santry ,for the National Uneven Age Groups and Novice championships.
No local input is likely in the Novice but there will be local interest in the Under Age action with a Girls U13 squad qualified from the Ulsters, plus Fintan Stewart U17 and Michael Melarkey U19, likely to also travel in search of honours on the big stage.

Hide AdRace packs can be picked up at the U3A Foyle building in Gransha from 10.30am and the entry fees of £2 for the underage races or the £6 for the Open race paid then.
The programme starts at 11.40am with the Primary Schools race, then it’s the U13s at 11.50am U15s at 12noon, U17s at 12.15pm and it’s a 12.35pm start for the Open 6K race.
A big turnout is anticipated for this very popular City of Derry Spartans annual promotion which sets the tone perfectly for the festive season and the end of another year.
