Scoreless draws for High School sides

Royal School Armagh 0

ON Thursday the U16 hockey girls drew 0-0 with Royal School Armagh.

This was a tough test for the U16 girls but they rose to the challenge performed extremely well.

Erin Leeper and Lauren Thompson had an excellent game in defence, remaining solid and denying Royal School Armagh any goals. Sophia Reynor also proved vital in maintaining this scoreline. As a right back she made a great save stopping the ball on the goal line to prevent the score becoming 1-0 against the girls.

Dromore’s midfield kept the pressure on Royal School Armagh with good strong play from Hannah Morrow and Beth Gowdy.

This was a very promising performance from the Dromore girls who are preparing for their first round of the High Schools Cup next month.

Dromore High School U13 B 0

Lisnagarvey High School 0

Dromore U13 Bs played their first friendly against Lisnagarvey High School on Monday.

Becky Elder had a great game in defence, proving difficult for Lisnagarvey to get around.

In midfield Rebecca Smyth was very strong and provided a number of chances for Dromore but unfortunately the girls could not convert these.

The final score was a 0-0 draw, another promising result for Dromore.
