Seapark Athletic Club 1-2-3 at Carrick parkrun

Seapark Athletic Club members have once again taken part in a range of events this week.

On Wednesday (November 26), Bobbie Irvine and Gary Connolly ran East Antrim Marathon Series’ first midweek marathon in Monkstown. The multi-lap course included road and trail and was a great success, despite the gruelling climb on each lap.

Irvine crossed the line in 3:37:22, and Connolly in 4:16:04.

On Saturday (November 29) the club was represented in the annual Seeley Cup 10k by Richard Heatherington.

Heatherington completed the course in 43:10, taking five minutes off his 2013 time.

Seapark AC was also represented at Carrickfergus parkrun 5k on Saturday morning and members headlined the leaderboard, securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Times as follows: Bobbie Irvine 19:52, Ian Cleland 20:03 (PB), Charlie McCormick 20:09, Brendan Rice 20:42 (PB), James Brown 25:10 (PB), Jennie Haggan 25:18, Andrew Smyth 25:29, Gillian Grant 28:23, Allan Grant 28:28, Karen Waring 29:31 (PB) and Carol Downey 38:17.

Seapark AC meets each Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at Carrickfergus Ampitheatre. Runners of all abilities are invited to come along and will be given a warm welcome.
