Search is on for this year’s worthy winners of senior Sports Awards’

The search is now on to find worthy winners of this year’s Senior Sports Awards - the final Banbridge District Council Senior Sports Awards.

Organised by Banbridge District Sports Association in association with Banbridge District Council, these awards recognise local athletes aged 18 and over who have excelled in their chosen sports both individually and as a team.

The awards also recognise coaches and individuals who have given their time and service to sport.

The Senior Sports Awards were recently launched at Donaghy’s Shoefair Sports, Banbridge.

Speaking at the launch, Chairman of the Banbridge District Sports Association, Michael Watt thanked Donaghy’s.

Mr Watt commented: “We are delighted that Donaghy’s Shoefair Sport will be once again sponsoring what will be the final Banbridge District Council Senior Sports Awards.

“I would like to thank them for their continued support which is greatly valued,” he added.

Nominees are sought for the seven categories of Sportswoman, Sportsman, Team Player of the Year, Senior Team, Coach, Service to Sport and Special Olympians.

Nomination forms for the awards are available from several outlets, including: Banbridge District Council Civic Building, Banbridge Leisure Centre, Donaghy’s Shoefair Sports as well as the community centres in Dromore, Gilford and Rathfriland.

Alternatively, the nomination form can be downloaded from the Council website at www.banbridge.gov.uk.

All completed forms must be returned to the Banbridge District Sports Association at the Civic Building before 5pm on Monday January 5 2015.
