Second bronze for Jane in Los Angeles

Lurgan’s Sarah Jane Johnston has won a second bronze at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old won her first medal in the 100 metre backstroke for Team Ireland on Sunday, the first day of competition, and then scooped a second on Monday in the 100m freestyle.

A member of Ripples Sports Special Olympics Club in Portadown, she will compete again in the relay event.

The Games officially got underway after the opening ceremony at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, site of the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games.
