Seconds fall to league leaders

DESPITE a battling performance, Coleraine Seconds slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to top of the league Lurgan last Saturday.

The hosts did well to keep the sharp Lurgan forwards at bay early on and were extremely unlucky when they had a goal disallowed in the dying minutes of the first half.

After the break Coleraine returned to the pitch with the same vigour but it was Lurgan who opened the scoring midway through the half.

The visitors added a second goal from a penalty corner but Coleraine hit back with an excellent goal from Victoria Wilson following a fine ball into the circle by Caryn McLeod.

But Lurgan pounced to socre a killer third goal with a strike in the Coleraine circle to seal victory.
