Seconds play their first game

WITH increasing numbers and Banbridge Netball Club's commitment to ensure competitive opportunities for everyone in the club, the club has now established a second team that will compete in B2 of the Netball Northern Ireland League.

On Thursday September 27 Banbridge Seconds kicked of their season against Newry Seconds on the impressive new court at Gilford Community Centre.

Banbridge led the match right up to half time where they were ahead by four goals but a determined Newry fought back to win the match 31-28. Player of the match was Elaine Henry.

Banbridge Netball Club have now gained a number of players from Rathfriland Netball Club as, due to unforeseen circumstances, the club had to unfortunately fold.

Banbridge Netball Club would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the girls and encourage other new members to come along and join our club.

They would also like to encourage any girls from Primary 5 and 6 to come along and join our training sessions on Tuesday Evenings in Banbridge Leisure Centre from 5.30-6.30pm.

Next fixture: Banbridge Firsts v Clan Eireann in St Peter’s GAA Club, 8.30pm, Wednesday October 3.
