Lurgan Bowling Club Seniors let a large lead slip in the closing ends of this Irish Cup game against Private Greens 2nd division club Mossley, leading from the start the home team looked comfortable leading 32-14 after 5 ends, they would still lead at the half 46-32.

The away team closed the margin however at three quarter distance Lurgan still lead 62-54, a disappointing finish saw Lurgan lose this lead and the away team winning 82-76 in a close finish that ends a miserable week for the seniors.

On Rink 1 Gareth Bunting, Michael Bunting, Stevie Poots, and skip Alan Roberts started strong against the Mossley rink skipped by E Crawford, building up a strong 14-2 lead after 5 ends, the Lurgan rink always looked comfortable and sustained a late push by the away rink winning 29-19.

On Rink 2 Ronnie McCullough, Jeff McCullough John Gilliland and M. Montgomery always found themselves behind against the rink skipped by S. Strange, though the game remained tight in the first half as the trailed 8-5 at the half. The Lurgan four faltered over the second half as the Mossley four extended their lead to win 22-12.

On Rink 3 Neil Sloan, Declan McCabrey, Pete McGrail and skip Alan Briggs started impressively against skip G Bell building up an early 10-2 lead.

The Lurgan four were unable to sustain this good early form as their lead slipped to only 3 shots at three quarter distance. And was overturned in the run in as they lost 21-19

On Rink 4 Ivor Mitchell, Bobby Boness, Bobby Ruddell and Harry Cosgrove shared the first five ends with Mossley rink skipped by R Bell as they were tied at 5 apiece.

The Lurgan rink nosed ahead and held a 2 shot lead at three quarter distance, a late blip seen the Lurgan rink slip behind in the closing ends losing 20-16.
