Sensational comeback seals trophy for Armoy

ARMOY took this year's Chest, Heart and Stroke trophy following an epic final battle with Carey at the Quay Road Hall last Tuesday.

A large crowd turned out in anticipation of a exciting match - and they weren’t disappointed.

Carey stormed into an early lead and looked to be on course for the win at the half-way mark, five shots ahead of their opponents at the break.

Carey extended their lead to 11 shots after the break.

However, a dogged Armoy refused to concede and came out all guns blazing in the final stages of the match.

Carey's lead was gradually diminished by a resurgent Armoy.

Brian Gage's rink picked up a sixth in the eighth end to send Armoy on their way to a remarkable victory.

Thanks to the umpire Alister Kilpatrick.

An excellent supper was provided by members of the Ramoan club and enjoyed by all.

Mrs Isa Glenn and Mrs Elizabeth Douthart accepted a cheque for 300 from the local Chest, Heart and Stroke branch.
