Seven exciting matches

SEVEN exciting matches took place on Saturday 1st December as part of the First Blues Lisburn and District Dart League.

Each match was well contested and it was a very enjoyable evening of darts.

The first match was between Reid’s Corner and Ballymacash. Reid’s Corner had a 3-2 lead after five matches. P. McCallister, D. Jordan and S. Walsh coming out on top for Reid’s. Both McCallister and Jordan shot three 100’s over the course of their matches while Walsh shot two 100’s.

However Ballymacash won the next four matches and the final score was six games to three in favour of Ballymacash. There winners were G. Tipping who shot two 100’s, a 180 and he took just 16 darts to get to 501, A. Carlisle who shot two 100’s,a 140 and it took him just 21 darts to complete his match and Bailey shot four 100’s and he used 17 and 21 darts over the course of his match.

I. Ringland then shot a 100 and a 140 to help clinch victory, D. White shot two 100’s and two 140’s to salvage a point for his team and finally J. Gribbin needed just 21 darts to achieve the 501 target and he also shot three 100’s to complete a great night for Ballymacash.

The next game was between Ballinderry A’s and Marketview. Marketview were very strong on the night in scoring and finishing and in the end they won by scoreline of six games to two. Ballinderry A’s winners were A. Best who shot a 100 to help secure a point for his team and P. Warnock who shot two 100’s during his match.

Marketview’s winners included M. McKee who shot three 100’s, a 108 outshot and used just 18 darts to complete an impressive display, P. McGlynn, B. Jones and S. Nugent who shot two 100’s and a 140 to secure three points for Marketview. K. Duffy shot four 100’s and K. Whyte shot two 100’s to secure a well deserved win for Marketview.

Ballinderry and Byrnes A’s were next to play. Ballindery started brightly with H. Todd winning the first match after shooting three 100’s. Byrnes A’s then came alive and they won the next six matches resulting in a fantastic victory.

Their winners were E. Wright who shot five 100’s and two 140’s, S. Lennon who impressively shot seven 100’s and used just 18 darts in securing another point and G. Bell used 20 and 21 darts and shot two 100’s, a 140 and a 180 during his impressive performance. N. Dillon then shot two 140’s on his way to victory, D. Geddis shot a 140 and a 180 during his respectable 20 and 21 dart games and finally N. Peden secured victory in his match with a 180.

Maghaberry A’s proved to strong for Manor Inn as they ran out 6-0 winners in a very one sided contest. A. Johnson, B. Hull and S. Hull all shot a 100 in their matches. A. Finnie shot a 140 and needed just twenty darts to win his match, P. Presho also used just twenty darts in his match and he shot two 100’s in the process and P. Kirkwood shot a 100 and two 140’s to round off a great victory for Maghaberry A’s.

Pigeon Club and Belfast Indoor Bowling Club played out a very exciting match. B.I.B.C raced into a 3-0 lead only to be pegged back by Pigeon Club taking this one to the last match before losing 6-4. Pigeon Club winners were T. Warner, D. Coulter who shot a 100, S. English who also shot a 100 and F. Mahood was the stand out performer for Pigeon Club who shot two 100’s. B.I.B.C winners were C. McConkey, M. Ferguson who shot three 100’s and E. Dobbin who shot a 140. T. Johnston then shot two 100’s and a 140 on his way to securing a point for his team, D. Blackledge shot two 100’s over the course of his match and J. Bunting shot a 100 and 140 to finish a great encounter that went right to the wire.

The Crows were up against Downside. The away team made a great start by winning the first two games, the home tetam then took the next two games before going 3-2 down. The Crows then took control and ran out 6-3 winners. The Crows winners were W. Harkness who took just 21 darts to complete his game, P. Logan and J. Wallace who shot a 100 in his match. D. Kay used 21 darts while shooting three 100’s in his game, T. Harbinson came out on top and K. Kennedy shot a 180 and used just 20 darts to get to that all important 501. Downside’s winners were B. McMichael who impressively used just 17 darts and shot two 100’s and a 140 over the course of his match, S. Benson who shot a 100 and T.G. Mackin.

The final match of the night was between Laganview and Dunmurry Inn. This proved to be a nip and tuck match that went all the way with Dunmurry winning the last 2 games for a well deserved 5-5 draw. Laganview’s winners were G. McKinney, G. Mochan who shot a 105, A. Hurst, P. Finnegan and W.G. Alister who shot a 100. Dunmurry Inn’s winners were J. Reid who shot a 100, a 120 and a 123, W. McMorran who shot a 121,A. Jackson who shot a 100, S. Alan and D. Geary.
