Shamrock Under-16s are Camogie Feis Champions

Loughgiel Shamrock Under-16’s are once again the Camogie Feis Champions, continuing a fantastic run of success for the club.

A solid performance all over the field from the Shamrock U16’s saw them defeat Cushendall to retain the title and be crowned the champions of the feis na ngleann in the opeing game of the feis on Friday evening in Loughgiel.

There were some fine scores which were taken at ease and on the blow of half time with the girls playing against the breeze in the first half the score board read 2-6 to 1-3 to the girls in red and white.

The Loughgile girls pulled away from their opposition in the second half and scored 3-6 in the second period to leave the full time score Loughgiel 5-12 Cushendall 2-4.

There was no doubt the Under-16 Feis cup would remain in the Shamrock Camogie Cabinet for another year with this performance much to the delight of the team’s captain Charley McCarry and the team’s management duo Ronan McCloskey and Carmel McGarry.
