Shamrocks progress to final

In a hard hitting battle earlier this week Loughgiel and Rossa took to the pitch in Fr Healy Park to do battle for a place in the U21 Hurling Championship final.

The Loughgiel lads hit the groud running and opened the scoring with a well placed point from Shan McGrath. Both teams battled hard in the first half.

Rossa hit the back of the Shamrocks net and sent over two fine points to leave the score board at half time reading Loughgiel 0-10 Rossa 2-2.

The second half started equally as hard hitting as the first half had finished.

Scores were exchanged at either end of the pitch with Rossa hitting the Shamrocks on two more ocassions.

Loughgiel kept the foot to the pedal and continued at ease to send over well taken points both from play and frees to see them come out victorious with a score line of Loughgiel 0-26 Rossa 3-9.

Loughgiel have now booked their slot in the Antrim U21 Hurling Championship against Ruairi Og Cushendall on Monday 20th June. The venue & time of the game will be confirmed later in the week.
