Shenna – a veteran of the event, received the honour of being flag bearer for the cycling competitors at this multi-sport games. Benefitting from the coaching know how of ace track man Terry Mackin and assistance from sponsors K.Mackin Transport, Shenna competed in four track disciplines and finished in the top ten in each while setting provisional Junior Irish records in the Flying 200m and 500m Standing Start.

This was indeed a fine end to her participation at this event particularily given the national level of the competition and the presence this year of Brazil as a guest team.

Shenna’s experience with this level of competition will prove invaluable in the next stage of her developing cycling career and indeed will have drawn inspiration from meeting her cycling idol Laura Trott during her visit to the velodrome.
