Shepherds lose their lead

Shepherds 4

Imperial Inn 4

SHEPHERDS were held to a draw by a very determined Imperial side and with it they lost their slender advantage at the top of the league table.

It all started well for the home side as Jason Hamill and paul hannah gave them a 2-0 lead. D Noble pulled one back for the Imperial.

When Mark Doolan and Johnny Neill took the next two frames to put Shepherds three frames up with three to play it looked all over for the visitors but the Imperial have shown all season that they do not surrender easily and hit back by taking those final three frames through R Kerr, A Corbett and I McCreanor.

Once again only three points seperate the top five teams in the league.

Anglers 6

Market Bar 2

The rest of the division may watch out as the defending champions have now pulled themselves to within two points of the leaders.

The Anglers showed their power at home as they comfortabley despatched an inform team in the shape of the Market Bar.

Ivan Blevins and R Connell gave them the perfect start; M Jardine gave the Market a glimmer of hope in the third but that was quickly extinguished when the Anglers took the next four frames through C McAvoy, BJ McAnarney, M Gribben and E McClery and secured both points. A Currie finished off the night in the last for the Dromore side.

Coach B 3

Halfway House 5

A fantastic away result for the Halfway which pulls them level with the Coach and only three points off the pace.

In this tight match the result was not sorted untill the final frame. A Deane gave the home side an early lead but the Halfway House hit back with interest through A McCartan and B Taggart.

Noel Meara drew the sides level in the fourth. The Halfway then took control as they won two frames on the trot from D McAlinden and N McAlinden which guaranteed at least a point.

P Haughey took the seventh to make sure the pressure was on D Mulligan for the Halfway in the final frame but he showed he was well up for it and secured the victory for the visitors.

Castle Tavern 7

Hawthorn Rovers 1

The Hawthorn were unable to take their impressive home form to Tandragee on Tuesday night as the Castle Tavern steamrolled them to keep up their slim hopes of honours this season alive.

The first three frames were taken in style by Gordon Church, Richard Gibson and Ryan Taylor. K McKee took the only positive result for the Hawthorn in the fourth. The final four frames completed their miserable night through Tom Bell, Chris McStay, Ronnie Weir and James Lavery.

Castle B 6

Donacloney Legion 2

The Legion lost more ground on the league leaders with this defeat.
