Shuttlecock Golf Society back in action

LAST Thursday the Shuttlecock Golf Society held their first outing of the season on the Portstewart Riverside Course.

Perfect weather conditions and no little amount of skill led to record scoring with Colin Mairs, playing off a 17 handicap, taking the honours in the Low Section. Colin produced an outstanding score of 76 gross which yielded 47 points.

The High Section also produced impressive scoring. This was won by Derek Browne, playing off a 25 Handicap, returning a remarkable tally of 49 points.

No player managed a "Two" so the prize money will be doubled up for the next outing at Castlerock on Thursday 20 May. At this event members will also be competing for the Bob McIlfatrick Memorial Trophy.
