Don’t miss out this summer! Summer 2012 promises to be an action packed summer of sport for the youth of the Borough with no less than 6 camps in 5 different sports taking place throughout June - August.

Ballymoney Borough Council Central and leisure Directorate launched its annual series of summer camps this week at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre.

The series of camps is aimed at all ranges and abilities of children aged from 5 through to 18. Undoubtedly there will be something on offer this summer to suit all tastes in sport.

These camps coupled with the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre’s Summer Scheme, ensure that children of all ages from the Borough have the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activity every week this summer.

“Provision of summer activities is vitally important to Sports Development and I am delighted that Causeway Netball Club, Ballymoney Blaze Volleyball Club, Ballymoney United Youth Academy and Ballymoney Hockey Club have come on board this year to provide organisational and coaching expertise to ensure the participants have a great sporting experience here in Ballymoney,” commented John Fall, Sports Development Officer.

“Fully qualified coaches from each of the clubs will deliver the coaching sessions at the camps.

“It is also my hope the camps will lead to participants joining up with the clubs as a result of the camps.”

Registration for all camps and summer scheme courses can be made at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre reception from Monday 28th May 2012, so it’s vitally important to register quickly to avoid disappointment.

Soccer

Age 5 - 12 Monday & Tuesday 18th & 19th June, 25th & 26th June 5.30pm – 7pm Cost £20 at Our Lady of Lourdes High School

Tennis

Age 5-10+ Nine different courses starting form Monday 16th July 2pm – 5pm Cost £25 per course (£15 Junior) JDLC
