Zoe Hennessey, Beth Goode and Lola Nicholl travelled down to Derry to compete in the event against Northern Ireland’s top clubs.

All three girls competed in the full four events - Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor making them also eligible for the All Around competition - in which they won two titles.

Lola Nicholl and Beth Goode competed in the Level 4 in age group in which they faced stiff competition from the Salto gymnasts.

Not only did both girls but in excellent performances - but they won a whopping nine medals between them!

Seven-year-old Lola put in a very mature performance and impressed the judges with her high level of difficulty. She picked up gold on all four pieces and a massive all around score of 40.00 - enough to secure her the Level 4 All Around title and her fifth gold medal of the day.

Also in Level 4 was team mate Beth who was competing for the very first time. Beautiful execution ensured her bronze on Vault, Beam and Floor and a fourth on Bars. With such high scores on each piece she got to share the podium with team mate Lola for All Around and earning third place.

Nine-year-old Zoe Hennessey competed in Level 3 in age and although it was the largest group of the day Zoe still managed to medal.

This little gymnast really impressed on Floor with her beautiful artistry and powerful tumbles earning her a bronze medal. And again herpower ensured her the bronze medal at Vault.

Coach Mary Robinson said: “The girls were absolutely fantastic! I was delighted with the performances and the level of maturity they all showed on the day.

“It will give all the girls a huge boost going into summer training and up skilling.”

The club would like to thank all of the coaches and young leaders that travelled down to Derry with the girls and helped on the day - a greatteam.

Results:

Level 4: Lola Nicholl 1st Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and All Around; Beth

Goode 3rd Vault, Beam, Floor and all Around, 4th Bars.

Level 3: Zoe Hennessey 3rd Vault and Floor, 4th Bars.
