Over 1,000 gymnasts from all over Ireland competed over three days and Sikas’ team of 15 gymnasts did not disappoint! Between them the club won 16 regional golds, five regional silvers and eight regional bronze. More impressively they also won four National Gold titles, two National Silvers and a National Bronze!

First up was the club’s five youngest gymnasts competing in Level 2 and they did exceptionally well. Megan Swinney picked up two regional golds on Vault and Beam, with Jaden Nicholl taking the silver on beam and Daisy Deal making it a Sika clean sweep taking the Bronze on beam also.

At Level 3 the club had four gymnasts and whilst they are only little they put in mighty performances! In the under 8 section Kerry Rose Draine took a clean sweep winning regional gold on all four pieces and became the National Bar Champion. Rianna Robinson picked up regional silver on Vault and Bars and bronze on Beam and Floor. In the under 9 category Evie Willmott, who was competing for the first time, rose to occasion winning a National Silver on Floor, along with regional gold on floor and bronze on Beam, Bars and Vault.

Next it was on the three Level 5 gymnasts who exceeded everyone’s expectations with all three gymnasts medalling on every piece! In the under 9yrs group Zoe Patterson became the National Beam and Floor Champion and also picked up National silver on Bars, along with four regional golds! In the under 11yrs category Niamh McConnell became the National Bar champion along with a regional gold on bars, silver on vault and two bronzes on beam and floor. Team mate Beth Goode did exceptionally well picking up three regional golds on Floor, Beam and Vault and a silver on bars.

At Level 7 our sole competitor Zoe Hennessey put in the performance of a lifetime and was rewarded with a regional gold on bars! Hallie Price and Tamara Walker were the clubs highest level competitors competing at level 8 and both girls did exceptionally well. Tamara Walker’s beauty and grace saw her pick up a regional gold on Floor and a National Bronze again on floor!

The club is extremely proud of all these little gymnasts and would like to thank all the coaches and volunteers that make it possible for them to compete at the highest level. The future of Sika Gymnastics Club is looking very promising!
