The team Nadine Bibby, Rudi McClenaghan, Graham Wallace and David Scott are from Skydive Wild Geese in Garvagh. No strangers to success, the team won Gold last year when they competed in the Rookie category and this year having made the considerable step up to the A category found themselves back on the podium after a tough and very close battle with eventual winners Kintama.

Team spokesperson Nadine Bibby commented: “We were delighted to win Silver this year. We knew moving up was going to a tough prospect and our lack of jumps thanks to the Northern Ireland weather didn’t help. However, we put as much time as possible into team training at Skydive Wild Geese and travelling back and forward to Bodyflight Bedford, the UK’s largest indoor skydiving facility.

“When we arrived for the Championships we had two days of training jumps which helped us get focussed and although the weather delayed the start of the championships we were more than ready when it came to our category. It was close throughout each of the eight rounds although the winners, Kintama were always just ahead of us.” Fly Wild qualified to represent Great Britain in this weekend’s European Championships, unfortunately the excessive costs required meant they were forced to forego their place.
