Six of the best from Scarva eases semi-final loss pain

SCARVA Rangers put the disappointment of the previous week’s semi-final defeat emphatically behind them with this sensational victory in the league.

With the chase for the Division Two title now entering the final straight it was an ideal time to record such a comprehensive victory.

Neil Anderson’s through ball carved the home defence apart and Stephen Hendron finished clinically to give Scarva Rangers the lead.

Hendron doubled his side’s advantage with another fine finish but the hosts scored from the penalty spot to narrow Scarva’s lead to a single goal at the half-time interval.

The second half undeniably belonged to the visiting team. Dean McCammon made it 3-1 with a close range finish from a corner and McCammon also scored his side’s fourth of the afternoon.

Colin Brown provided an inviting cross and McCammon rose to send a powerful header crashing into the back of the net.

Brown was the provider once again as Scarva stretched their lead to 5-1, a slide rule pass releasing Greg Douglas whose razor sharp finish flashed past the home keeper and into the net.

The sixth and final goal of an outstanding afternoon for Mo Brown’s unstoppable side was created by Neil Anderson and Mark Baird, rampaging forward from his own half, supplied the finishing touch.

Scarva’s reserve side was defeated 6-0 at home to Banbridge Rangers Swifts.
