They kept up the pressure and they made it tell on 10 minutes when Curtis Gibson scored a great goal.

Magherafelt tried hard to come back but Slane got their second of the game six minutes later and again it was Curtis Gibson who pounced on some poor defending by Magherafelt.

Slane pushed Magherafelt back into their own half time and time again but just couldn't get a third goal which would have ended this game as a contest.

Magherafelt started the second half the stronger and within five minutes gone they got a goal back.

Slane tried to regroup but Magherafelt got their second on the back of an off-side decision.

Their heads dropped for a while but the manager made some changes and this seemed to give the lads a lift. Curtis Gibson was one on one with the last defender who hauled him down inside the box but the referee never gave it.

The game was end to end in the last 10 minutes but neither team could find the winner.

Slane remain second in the league after three games. Man of the match was Curtis Gibson with his two goals and great workrate.
