SNOOKER: Big win for Triangle A in Snooker League

TRIANGLE A recorded a fantastic 5-1 win over Dunloy United in the Coppergate International Ballymoney and Coleraine District Snooker League last week.

First up for Triangle was Aaron Moffatt who went head to head with Brendan McTaggart and with some good play from both players they shared the spoils 1-1.

Team captain Willie Eakin and Randall McDonnell, both on level handicaps, met next with Willie using the home advantage taking both frames easily.

Up next for Triangle was the legendary Dixie Tweed playing Dunloy's Martin Crawley, who was not at the game at all as Dixie won both frames with ease to seal a good 5-1 win for Triangle A.

Ballymoney All Stars were at home to Coleraine Hawks and up first was A McGonigle against Carl Wilson and with a handicap of 20 points Carl had a fight on his hands. But with his experience and some very good safety he won the first frame with ease, however A McGonigle got himself together and took the second to level the match 1-1.

Up next for the All Stars was C McIntyre who took on Walter Purcell, and with the handicaps level both players fought hard to share the spoils. The last match between M Graham and B Kennedy was a no contest as Graham took both frames easily to record a good 4-2 win for the All stars.

The last match of the week saw Triangle Young Guns at home to Triangle Destroyers and Peter Cochrane went head to head with S Mcllroy

with both players having to make do with a draw in a terrific encounter.

Next up was Keith Hunter and Johnny White and with a 42 break in the first frame from Johnny took the frame easily. However Keith came to life and with some good steady play he took the second to level the score.

Last up was team captain Daniel McAuley against Billy Moore who proved too good for Daniel taking both frames for a good 4 - 2 win for the Destroyers.

The Sammy Walker Knock-out League Cup will start on October 7.
