SNOOKER: Leaders St John’s pocket comfortable victory over Greenbank ‘B’

St John’s lead the way after week four of the Larne and District Snooker League by recording their third win of the season - a 4-1 success at Carrick side Greenbank ‘B’.

Greenbank ‘A’ are still unbeaten with three wins from three but remain in second place by a point after beating The Point 5-0. Davy Johnston, Davy Douglas (43, 25), Wayne Harper, Andy Lilly and Michael Kane (26) all won for the Sunnylands men.

Q-Club ‘A’ also sit on 11 points after a narrow 3-2 victory over Carrick GC ‘B’ at North Road. Neil McFaul, William Irvine and Lee Topping won the last three after Billy Hill Junior and Paul Gibney had put the golfers ahead.

Ballyclare ‘A’ suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Carrick ‘A’. G. Crawley got them off to a good start but Carrick hit back through Davy Wright, Gavin Baker, B. Rafferty and Ricky Bradley.

Linfield emerged as 3-2 victors against Ballyclare Old Boys. Gary Rutherford (25), William Stewart and John Ferguson won for the Blues as Darren Vennard and Declan McClean (24) secured two points for the hosts.

Q-Club ‘B’ beat Latharna 3-2. Nick McClay, Colin Leitch and Ryan Scott won with George McGregor and Raymond Weir on target the visitors.

Basement boys St Comgall’s lost 4-1 to Ballylumford. Alphonsus McIlwaine won the Saints’ frame with Jim Magill D McNeill, D McAllister and Paul Wylie winning for Ballylumford.
