SNOOKER: League ready for the off

THE Ballymoney and Coleraine District Coppergate International Snooker League held its AGM on Tuesday 10 August in Ballymoney Royal British Legion.

Last year's chairman Mr C Wilson welcomed all to the meeting and declared all positions vacant and asked for nominations for chairman, secretary and treasurer. Officers elected for 2010/11 are as follows: Chairman - Mr C Wilson; Secretary - Mr D Leighton; Treasurer - Mr B Baker.

The new league season was discussed in great detail and many changes will be in force for our new season. A total of 12 teams will play this year and registration will take place at the next meeting on Tuesday 24 August in Coleraine Royal British legion at 8pm.

It is important that a representative from each club attend this meeting.

All three competitions will again be played along side the league, The Sammy Walker Knockout Cup, The Baker family Doubles and the Telford Cup for the individuals.

The chairman Mr C Wilson would like to wish all teams a very successful and enjoyable year.
