Snooker: Q-stix bow out with cup victory

THE reign of Q-stix at the top of the Larne & District Snooker League is over, as the club has now closed, but they bowed out in typical style, winning their final competition.

The Larne side beat Ballyclare Golf Club 3-0 in the final of the Dr Scott Memorial competition.

Meanwhile, Greenbank beat The Point in the final of the St Comgalls Shield last week by three frames to nil.

Last year’s player of the year, Shaun McAlister from St Comgalls, has won the Brian McKay Memorial competition by 3-0 over Marty Goudie from Q-stix.

C O’Toole from St Comgalls won the old Division Two Individual against Damien Todd from St Johns.

The Larne & District League’s annual prize night takes place in Carrickfergus Golf Club tomorrow (Friday, May 11) at 8pm, wyen all players and friends are invited.
