SNOOKER: Six teams in hunt for League title

WITH only three fixtures remaining in the Ballymoney & Coleraine District Snooker League the spoils are there for the taking.

The last round of fixtures on Thursday saw Triangle A take on Triangle B and both teams were fighting hard for the points. Captains Willie Eakin and Willie Boreland shared their match with one frame apiece. But Mark Hutchinson and Ady Toner clean up to give Triangle B a good 5-1 win.

Garvagh entertained Dunloy United with Marcus Dickson and Martin Crawley sharing the spoils in the first game. Dale Harley produced an excellent display against the league's in-form player, Randall McDonnell, but had to make do with a draw in the end.

Peter Roulson went head-to-head with Dunloy's Brendan McTaggart, but he didn't produce his best form as he lost both frames to give Brendan and Dunloy the win.

Triangle C were at home to CRBL Hawks with Triangle's young stars producing an excellent performance. Dean Reilly beat Kenny Hutchinson 2-0 with a superb clearance in the second, before Peter Cochrane saw off Don Leighton.

Carl Wilson managed to save his side from a whitewash as he shared the points with Daniel McAuley in the final match.

Ballymoney Legion A and Dunloy Galaxy still have to play their outstanding fixture from last week.
