SNOOKER: Tight at the top between Greenbank and St John’s

This week Greenbank ‘A’ had a comfortable 4-1 home win against Ballyclare Golf Club ‘A’. Pete McCaffrey (29), Robert Kinnon (29 & 21), Davy Douglas (22) and Boydie Hawkins all won, with Ronnie West taking one frame for the golfers.

Andy Reid, Damian Todd, Alex Robertson and Dougie Long helped St John’s defeat Greenbank ‘B’, with I. Adrian winning his first league frame.

Ballyclare Golf Club ‘A’ had a close 3-2 victory over The Point. Darren Agnew (52 & 32), Michael Agnew and Tommy Bamber won for the golfers, while Graham Ferguson (32) and Roy Logan responded for The Point.

Carrick ‘A’, meanwhile, suffered a narrow defeat against Latharna. Jim Jackson (50 & 52) got his side off to a good start, with George McGregor and Billy Millar (37) securing the win. Ricky Bradley and Davy Wright netted two points for the visitors.

Wins for Anthony McCorry (29), Joe Gribben, Bertie Pill and Alphonsus McIlwaine gave St Comgall’s a 4-1 victory at St Comgall’s.

Linfield won 3-2 against Ballylumford with Ross McDowell, Raymond Forsythe and Billy Parke pocketing successes for the Blues, with Darren McNeill and Michael McWilliams winning a frame each for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Ballyclare Old Boys took four frames at The Legion with Declan McClean, Darren and Noel Vennard and Stevie Crymble winning.

The draw has now been made for the Knock-Out Cup and Pairs, all clubs should now have their information.
