Soldierstown get home win as they entertain St Paul’s

Section A

Soldierstown got a home win in Section A of the Roy Kennedy Fuels Indoor Bowling League when they entertain St Paul’s, who only managed a point and a half.

Killaney took five points from a one shot win away to Derriaghy and Ballinderry added another seven points at Eglantine.

Loughaghery pairs a huge success

The Loughaghery Open Pairs Competition, which finished on Friday night, was a huse success with an entry of 129 pairs and a win for two Cookstown bowlers in the final.

The final was a top class affair with Clark Hill and Alan Paul winning against local girl, Karen Ellison, who played with Johnny Gray. under the Tullylish banner.

Ellison/Gray had beaten Johnny Wilson/Andrew Leckey, also from Tullylish in the semi-final and Hill/Paul were winners over Matthew and Robert Hastings, Ballywalter.

The beaten quarter finalists were Eddie Marsden/Paul Reid, Ballinderry; Cecil Dillon/Allen Johnston, Poyntzpass; Alan McClean/Jack Montgomery, Abbey Presbyterian and Stephen Oliver/Uel Shaw, Killyman.

The finals night was enjoyed by a large and appreciative crowd.
