Solid Swifts secure points against Scarva

Rathfriland Swifts 2

Scarva Rangers 0

RATHFRILAND Swifts hosted Scarva Rangers in a midweek fixture and after a solid display collected the three points.

Joe Toal went close twice in the first half while a great cross by Philip Johnston was met by Kyle Heslip but his header was point blank at the visiting `keeper.

A good save by Cunningham near the end of the half ensured that the half time scoreline remained 0–0.

In the second half Joe Toal showed the right full back a clean pair of heels and crossed for David Hollingsworth to shoot low into the net.

Toal then hit a post when well placed while at the other end William Morrison and John Frazer were solid in the centre of the defence.

With five minutes remaining Hollingsworth made it 2-0 with a great curling shot from the edge of the 18 yard box and enough to give the Swifts the three points.
