South expected a tough game, going down 1-0 within the first three minutes of the match but with Nathan Alistar playing the quater back role, South were 3-1 up at half time thanks to Callum McCandless (two) and Jonny Taylor.

Spurred on by their first half revival, South ran away with the game after the break with Alan Hamilton Jnr grabbing a double, youngster Ben Cochrane scoring on his debut and Nathan Alistar rounding off a man of the match display with a goal for himself.

Elsewhere, South Seconds were eliminated from the Irish Junior Cup after losing 2-0 to Three Rock Rovers in Dublin.

South Fifths drew 1-1 against Civil Service at home in a game they can consider themselves unfortunate not to have won. Ian McElhinney got the goal for the Fifths.
