Sponsorship boost for local handcyclists

THE Ulster Handcycling Association fronted by Ballymena man Darrell Erwin, have just proudly displayed their new look cycling shirts for the first time at the start of the Freewheelers 22nd Lough Neagh Charity Cycle Tour.

The shirts were kindly sponsored by local company Stoneyford Concrete whose MD Trevor Leckey stated: “We are delighted to be supporting the Ulster Hand Cycling Association, they are a well organised cycling club with a core membership of disabled cyclists.

“The club has a racing section and also a touring section and the fact that it caters for disabled cyclists right across the board makes us, as a company, delighted to be associated”.

Club Chairman Darrell Erwin added: “When designing the shirts we decided to make them as bright and eye catching as possible, in the hope that club members would be more visible to road traffic”.

Darrell also mentioned that the Ulster Handcycling Association who are affiliated to Governing Body Cycle Ulster are keen to recruit new cyclists with disabilities. Anyone who is interested can contact 07756 149617.
