The North East PEACE III Sport for Peace Building project has also been granted the prestigious Inspire Mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire Programme, which recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Kyle Ferguson from the University of Ulster Sports Academy said: “Sport Comes 2 Town is all about getting the community engaged in sport, building partnerships and creating pathways. This project brings the benefits of sport to the community by working with local sports clubs throughout the country to inspire and encourage people to get involved. Sport is not just for the elite, it is for families from small kids to parents and grandparents, so I would encourage everyone to get active and support sport in your area.”
