Sport NI Active Awards for Sport

Coleraine Ladies Hockey Club have launched their Sport NI Active Awards for Sport programme ‘Hockey Coleraine, Try It, Play It, Live It’.

Present at the launch event for the Primary Schools ‘Try It’ Hockey Festival were Mayor of Coleraine Cllr George Duddy, Conleith Donnelly from Sport Northern Ireland, Ann Rosa President of Ulster Hockey and Colin Manson Club Development Officer Ulster Hockey.

Over the next year the funding will provide many opportunities to promote and develop hockey at Coleraine Ladies Hockey Club. Also planned is a coach education programme to strengthen the existing coaching structure at this progressive club.

Chief Executive of Sport Northern Ireland, Antoinette McKeown commented: “Sport Northern Ireland is delighted to have funded this project. It is great to see that our investment of £9,060 is providing value for money and increased sporting opportunities.

“Projects such as this are vital in increasing the number of children and adults experiencing, enjoying and participating in Sport and physical activity,” she said.
