Sports Awards - A first class team!

NORTH Antrim Sports Awards this week welcomed another major sponsor for this year's showpiece - First Trust Bank.

Saturday 16 October is the date for the annual extravaganza at Lissanoure Castle, Loughgiel.

The event is widely regarded as the biggest and best sporting occasion in the area with the cream of North Antrim sporting talent in attendance.

And the organisers are delighted to add First Trust to the list of backers which includes main sponsors Complete Gyms, Basil Knipe Electrics, Drones Stones, Biestys, Mollys Restaurant, Roadside Garages and Eddie Torrens car breakers.

Ballymoney and Moyle Times Editor Lyle McMullan said the clamour to come on board the North Antrim Sports Awards is testament to the high regard in which it is held.

"We are delighted to have First Trust Bank backing this year's awards as a major sponsor," said Mr McMullan.

"Each year the event gets bigger and better and this year will be no exception.

"The sporting talent in North Antrim never ceases to amaze. There are a number of World, British and Ulster champions alongside those whose achievements are also worthy of recognition."

There are 13 categories pencilled in at this stage and winners will not only enjoy a lavish meal at Lissanoure, regarded by many as one of the finest venues in the area, but will also be in the same company as some of the most recognisable faces in sport in Northern Ireland.

BBC sports presenter Joel Taggart will again be on hand as compere and a very special guest has been lined up on the evening though their identity is being kept under wraps at the present time.
