SPORTS AWARDS ON OCTOBER 16

SATURDAY, October 16 is the date for the annual North Antrim Sports Awards at Lissanoure Castle, Loughgiel.

The event is widely regarded as the biggest and best sporting occasion in the area with the cream of North Antrim sporting talent in attendance.

This year, the organisers, the Ballymoney and Moyle Times in conjunction with Complete Gyms - main sponsors - have secured a number of other key backers including Basil Knipe Electrics, First Trust Bank, Biestys, Ballymoney, Molly's Restaurant, Drones Stones, Roadside Garages and Eddie Torrens car breakers.

There's also a new look judging panel the latest recruit for which is Linda Dunlop.

Linda has agreed to come on board this year and is looking forward to helping identifyt winners from a highly impressive list of nominees.

There are 13 categories pencilled in at this stage and winners will not only enjoy a lavish meal at Lissanoure, widely regarded as one of the finest venues in the area, but will also be in the same company as some of the most recognisable faces in sport in Northern Ireland.

Joel Taggart, the popular BBC sports and news commentator, will be the compere and expect a few surprises along the way in terms of high profile guests.
