Springwell juniors line up in Edwards & Co Super 5 Series

THE second meeting in the Edwards & Co. Super 5 Series, promoted by Lagan Valley AC, attracted a massive entry of over 260 athletes at the Mary Peters Track on Thursday evening.

Springwell Juniors continued their build up to the Junior Championships in June competing in the 200m and 800m.

Results:

97-98 Girls, 200m Aife McSheffrey 32.02, 800m Aife McSheffrey 2.51.80, Leah Gilfillan 3.05.90. Boys 800m Luke Dinsmore 2.26.0 (2nd).

95-96 Girls 200m Sarah McKinley 28.73, Emma Lusby 32.41.

Sally Brown ran a storming race and was leading her heat but unfortunately she missed judged the finish and was passed by the other runners. 800m Emma Lusby 2.45.99. Boys 800m Conor Christie 2.15.28, Isaac Kerr 2.17.28, Mathew Keys 2.33.06, Brian Tweedie 2.36.51.

93-94 Girls 200m Holly Clarke 27.23 (3rd), Maeread McKeague 29.77. Boys 800m Ashley Cairns 2.06.79 (1st).

This was a good work out for the juniors competing on the track they now know how their training is going and what they have to do to perform well at the Junior Championships.
