Springwell Runners in action across the Province this week

Springwell’s Brian Geddis was among the 900 competitors Murlough AC welcomed to the GR8 Dundrum Run on Saturday.

The event is a challenging multi-terrain race, covering a scenic 8 mile course on road, trail, boards and sand, starting and finishing in the shadows of the Mourne Mountains in Dundrum. Springwell’s Bryan Edgar ran 1:20:17 at cold wet Mizuno Half Marathon in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Glenn and Melanie Millar took part in the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run on Sunday. Glenn ran a PB for the Half Marathon in 1:23:41 while Melanie completed the course in 2:01:14.

Springwell’s Denise Walker travelled to Belcoo on Sunday for the Run for Oisin 10K. The event is to raise funds for the Oisin McGrath Foundation in memory of 13 year old Oisín McGrath, a keen sportsman, who sadly lost his life in February 2015. 

Nigel McNeill completed his 21st marathon of the year on Wednesday at the East Antrim Marathon Series. Nigel completed the 13 lap course in Monkstown Wood in 3:55:41. On Sunday 11 October, at the Adidas Armagh 10 mile Road Race, Springwell’s Gillian Wasson ran 1:06:18 and Jim Breen 1:07:46.
