Springwell runners success at Ballyliffen Coastal 10k Challenge

Springwell athletes travelled to Donegal on Saturday for the challenging Ballyliffin 10 Mile Coastal Challenge.

Conditions were good for the race as the runners set off on their 10 mile challenge. Finn Valley’s Ger Gallagher led the runners home in 57:49 and team mate Teresa Doherty was first lady in a course record 1:01:38. Springwell’s Sonia Knox was second in 1:08:58 and Ciara Toner third in 1:10:53.

Rhodri Jones was the first Springwell Runner home in 1:02:47, 9th place followed by Glenn Millar 1:05:58, Sonia Knox 1:08:58 (2nd Female), Ciara Toner 1:10:53 (3rd Female). Peter Jack 1:14:43, Jean-Claude Bourgeois 1:16:50, Catherine Bell-Allen 1:21:45, Melanie Millar 1:33:19, Emma Jamison 1:35:40, Judith McLaughlin 1:44:19, Robert McLaughlin 1:46:09, Claire Shields 1:51:09, Gary Shields 1:51:09, Shirley Jackson 1:54:14, 71 runners took part in the second Limavady parkrun. Springwell’s Jonathan McKee 17:44 was the first male finisher and Kirsty Bogle (Balltdrain Harriers) 22:04 first lady.

Ormeau parkrun - Alistair Shaw 18:13 and Chris Denton 27:44; Victoria parkrun - Davy Patterson 25:48; ECOS parkrun - Bernie Drain 29:27 and Brenda McGilligan 30:14.
