Springwell welcome 200th member

Springwell Running Club, now in its tenth year, has cause for a double celebration as junior member Dale Corbett recently signed on to become the club’s 200th registered member.

The club which was formed in October 2001 is now one of the biggest clubs in the province, with a total membership of 207, made up of 67 Males, 47 Females, 45 Junior Males and 47 Junior Females. Catering for all standards of runners the club hold regular sessions with fully qualified coaches in Coleraine, Ballymoney and Limavady, with separate sessions for Juniors, Seniors and beginners, detail of which can be found at the Clubs web-site. www.springwellrunners.com

Over the past 10 years the club have steadily built up a superb reputation within the province, whether it be for their race organisation over the six races they undertake around the Triangle and beyond each year, the money raised for various charities, or the work they do with councils and local communities.

Runners from the club can be seen in their distinctive purple strips at most races over various distances and terrains throughout the year, with the winter Cross Country season flowing into the spring half and full marathons and then into the summer track and road races. The club can also boast both Senior and Junior National champions over Cross Country and on the Track plus a Junior World champion on the Track.

With a membership ranging in age from 8 to 74 there has never been a better time to give running a go and no better club to join than Springwell Running Club.
