ST ENDA'S 0-14 V GLENROVERS 5-15 - Ulster League

Glenrovers started this year's Ulster league campaign with a Promising Victory over St Enda's in the spring sunshine.

St enda's were first off the mark with a point slotted over in the first 5 mins, this was cancelled out with Billy mc Clelland taking the first point from play of 2010 for the rovers. St Enda's went on to slot over 4 more points without reply. It was at this point that Armoy began to get in gear, starting with Stephen mc bride turning a high ball into the back of the st enda's net, this was followed with some individual scores from open play from Martin Mc Erlain and John Dillan, Armoy continued to apply pressure on the st Enda's defence with Owen Kinney in impressive form on his Rovers Debut to add to the score and create several chances, Armoy added 3 more points to st Enda's 2 coming from lee Forsythe and snaps(2) before the final score of the half was slotted over on the run from Eamonn Mc Caughan. St Endas weren't without their chances in the first half and were unlucky not to have a goal but for a great save from Rookie Keeper Connor Devlin. GlenRovers went in to the half time break with a 2 point lead 0-10 to 1-09.

The start of the second half saw young Eamon Mc Caughan continue where he left off with another great score slotted over the bar, St Endas replied with a point before Lee Forsythe added another couple.

Despite great defending from the back line St Endas found the net with a high ball deflected off a stick and falling to the corner forward who tapped it home, This was the boost they had needed and quickly added another 2 points. Armoy quickly regained composure and A scoring spree was started with a point from midfielder Gerard Mc Fetridge, Another 2 frees were pointed by Lee. It was then the turn of Colm Hunter to get on the score sheet with the rovers second goal, With 5 minutes remaining Stephen mc bride pressurised the full back into a mistake and duly tapped home his 2nd goal. The resulting puck out was intercepted by Tommy Mc Clafferty who broke the tackle and pumped the ball up field only for theEnda's keeper to drop it into his own net. With the St Enda's heads well and truly dropped Stephen Mc Bride again cut open the defence to rifle the sliother in to the top corner.
