St. Joseph's GAC to host summer camps

ST.JOSEPH'S will be running the CÚL Camp 2010 from Monday July 26 - Friday July 30.

A nationally co-ordinated programme, Vhi Cul Camps encourage children to learn and develop sporting and life-skills by participating in a Gaelic Games, in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Irrespective of sporting skill or ability, at Vhi Cul Camps children are encouraged to:

• Hone their sporting skills through participation in Gaelic Games.

• Learn new ideas and meet new people.

• Develop a keen sense of fair-play and personal achievement.

• Stay active and healthy.

• Have fun.

Children will also receive a full set of Vhi playing gear (jersey, shorts and socks) and a nifty knapsack.

Camp fees for an individual are 35, a family costs (brothers/sisters): 2 Family Members - 70, 3 or more family members - 95.

What to bring: Packed Lunch (Supervised half hour between 12 & 1pm); suitable playing gear e.g. runners; change of gear on wet days; towel, sun cream if necessary; your Hurley and Helmet for Hurling Camp.

The staff on the Vhi Cul Camps are experienced quality coaches (male & female), who have GAA coaching qualifications. They are enthusiastic people who have a proven record of interacting personally with children.

Meanwhile, St.Joseph's Saffron g Summer Camp 2010 will run from Monday July 26 – Thursday July 29. All 4-6 year olds are invited to get involved in the new Saffron g Summer Camp.

Saffron g camps are the first of its kind in Ulster GAA and are specifically designed to develop the fundamental skills of children e.g. agility, balance, co-ordination, catching, running, jumping and throwing. The main themes of these camps is "fun" and are delivered by specifically trained Ulster GAA Fundamental coaches.

Saffron g will run 10.30am to 12.30pm at a cost of 15. Each child will receive an Antrim GAA t-shirt as recognition of his/her participation. The Saffron g camps will run alongside the VHI Cul Camps in the relevant clubs.

Parents are asked to register for the Saffron Og camp as soon as possible on a Monday evening at the club rooms. Saffron Og Camps are restricted to 40 Children.
