The Doagh man was the cream of the crop as top wheelchair tennis players from all over Great Britain and Ireland as well as a representation from Europe descended on Preston Tennis Centre to battle it out for the title.

Lynn entered the second draw singles where he battled through the rounds without dropping a set before meeting top Scotland player Kieth Thom in the semi-final. The Scot put up a braveheart style fight, but after some fine displays, Lynn proved too good, coming through in straight sets 6-3, 6-5.

This top level victory should hold him in good sted for the Belfast City Council Evian International Wheelchair Tennis tournament taking place at The Ozone complex in September.
