Stalemate for Under 15's

Colts under 9's beat Limavady

Coleraine started this game strongly, with the midfield of Rhys Ewings, Kian Arthur and Adam Oliver working hard to deny Limavady Seconds.

Adam Oliver opened the scoring for the Coleraine youngsters, leaving the half time score 1-0.

Blaine McAuley, Dylan Johnston and Keelin Gaile came on for the Colts, as Limavady kept pushing forward, but the Colts fought hard in midfield. The half time score remained 1-0 to Coleraine.

The second half started with Limavady pushing forward in search of an equaliser. Johnston and Ewings made good runs forward but their efforts didn’t come to anything.

With 5 minutes left Limavady broke through and dispatched a shot that Adam Hopkins could do nothing about.

After the restart the Colts put more pressure on Limavady. Kian Athur restored Coleraine’s lead when he headed home a corner, to ensure his side ran out 2-1 winners.

The boys wish Kyle Scroggie a speedy recovery.

It has been a privilege to have worked with all the boys this season. The team can hold their heads high, having done well in the league, as one of the youngest teams.

Under 10’s beaten by Limavady

The league was to be decided in this game.

Coleraine had defeated Limavady Two 5-1 in a midweek tie, and they were hoping for more of the same.

The Under 10’s played well, but Limavady were two goals to the good at half time.

Coleraine had a better second half.

Ben White and Kori Doherty played brilliantly and continually brought the ball forward, but it wasn't to be their day in front of goal, after hitting the post twice.

Limavady got another goal against the run of play, but the U10's immediately got one back when Kori Doherty, straight from the restart, dribbled through the Limavady players and took a shot from 20 yards which found the top corner.

The U10's continued to pile on the pressure, but unfortunately couldn't find the net. The final score ended 3-1 to Limavady.

Coaches with the under 10’s would like to thank their boys for their efforts this season. They should be proud for their season, after coming runners up in their first season together. The future's bright. The future's blue and white!

Derby win for Under 12’s

The U12`s played a friendly on Saturday at the Joey Dunlop Centre against the Ballymoney Foyle Cup squad.

New signing Michael Ireland caused some problems for the Ballymoney defence. Coleraine were awarded a penalty after Jordan Walker was brought down in the box. Adam Harte fired home to put his side 1-0 ahead.

Curtis Rogers made it 2-0 before the break with a great strike from the edge of the box.

Coleraine threatened straight from the kick off.

The Academy went further ahead with the move of the game, the impressive Joshua McGregor picked up the ball and found Jordan Walker, he played the ball to Lewis Ritchie who found McGregor. McGregor then passed to Jordan Walker who found debutante Michael Ireland, who fired home his first goal for Coleraine.

Ballymoney pulled a goal back with a nice finish, to make it 3-1, before Coleraine rounded off a good afternoon when William Millar volleyed the ball into the net from a Jamie Ellis corner, to leave the full time score 4-1 to Coleraine.

Well done to all the squad on a fantastic performance against a strong Ballymoney side.

Man of the Match: Michael Ireland, a new signing for the team, who looked dangerous up front.

The Under 15’s travelled to Draperstown on Wednesday evening.

This was a top of the table clash, with both sides having everything to play for.

The first real opportunity of the game fell to Ciaran Ferris who broke down the left, but he was unable to find the target with his shot.

Shortly afterwards the home team almost took the lead with a well taken shot, but Ryan Buckley dived low to his right to save.

Coleraine were then awarded a free kick 30 yards from goal soon after. Ryan Hunter was unlucky, his effort went over the bar.

The second half continued in similar fashion, with both defences holding firm.

As the game progressed at a frantic pace, it was inevitable that legs would tire and spaces started to open up. The game was now end to end with both teams seeking that elusive winning goal. Both teams had their chances, but neither could convert these.

So as the sun began to set over the Sperrins the final trumpet sounded and the young warriors put away their swords and left the battlefield bloodied and bruised. There would be no victors today, but neither were there any losers.
