Stalemate in Town U12s six pointer clash

Banbridge Town

U12s 0

Lurgan 0

THE U12s draw with Lurgan earned both sides two points as the game was deemed a six-pointer in light of the fixture backlog, a result that did little for each side’s title ambitions.

The match itself was competitive throughout. Banbridge came closest to breaking the deadlock midway through the second-half when the ball seemed to cross the line following a goalmouth melee.

Banbridge began brightly and had several attempts on goal, notably from Aaron Thompson, Brian Johnston and Neil Cherry. Lurgan threatened especially down the right flank but their only real attempt on goal was from a free-kick that was well held by Town keeper Stuart Wilson.

Lurgan’s best period of the game was just after the interval and they came close to scoring on a few occasions. However, Banbridge weathered the storm and it was Town who finished the stronger.
